      Lynda joined DDSC in 1996, being successfully appointed Team Manager for the Tudor League within 6 months. Over the past 18 years, Lynda has coached DDSC to a high calibre which culminated in 8 years as DDSC Head Coach before taking a sabbatical.

      Now returned to DDSC, Lynda is using all her valuable experience with DDSC younger squads, helping to develop their technique and improve their stamina.

    • The minimum age of entry is 10 years old, however this may be earlier at Coaches discretion. The maximum age of entry is strictly 13 years of age.
    • Swimmers who are close to achieving or already have County times.
    • Total commitment to training.
    • A positive approach and attitude demonstrated when training.
    • Attendance must be 80% of available sessions per month including land training.
    • Training hours must be regularly met to allow all round development throughout the season.
    • Comfortably complete a test set of 12 x 100m F/C @ 1.50mins
    • Ability to complete 800m swim sets using pace clock on specific times set by coach.
    • Complete an IM set with legal turns lasting 800m as 4 x 200m IM.
    • Perform 15m underwater Fly Kick on both front and back.
    • Swimmer must participate in all Club Championships and be willing to represent the club at competitions when chosen.
    • Swimmers must also attend 6 Opens across the year upon discussion with their coach.

      Steven swam for Bromley SC for over a decade, becoming Kent Champion, a Regional Finalist and attaining his National qualifying time in 100m Backstroke. He later went on to be their Senior Squad coach for 5 years producing multiple County and Regional Champions as well as 2 National qualifiers who went on to compete in 10 National Finals.

      In 2008 he moved to Eltham Stingrays to help coach their junior swimmers before joining Erith & District in 2009 as their Head Coach. The following year he joined DDSC to coach our junior swimmers and ran both jobs simultaneously until 2013.

      Now solely at DDSC he aims to get every swimmer in Junior Top to County standard and above, help nurture the next generation of DDSC Champions and ultimately take us to that next competitive level he believes we can achieve.

    • Perform 50 metres in all four strokes with legal turns.
    • Swim 50 metres Backstroke and Breaststroke.
    • Must be able to perform legal starts and turns in all four strokes
    • Participate in all Club Championships.
    • Hold the Preliminary Start Award.
    • Swimmer must participate in all Club Championships and be willing to represent the club at all competitions when chosen. In addition to this swimmers will also attend Opens supported by the Club.

      Chloe was a competitive swimmer for DDSC for 12 years representing the club at county championships, becoming Vice Captain for the club age 15. She excelled at the sprint events her favourites being the 50m F/C, 50m Butterfly and 100m Butterfly.

      Having qualified as a swimming teacher in 2010 she has taught all age groups and abilities including those training for triathlons and national swimming competitions. Chloe has been trained to correct competitive strokes by ex Olympic and Commonwealth swimmers and is eager to bring all she has learnt to the swimmers at DDSC.

    • Swim 100 metres Individual Medley with legal turns.
    • Perform a 15 metre underwater kick in a streamlined position.
    • Perform a backstroke start then butterfly kick in a streamlined position underwater for 10 metres transferring into stroke and completing the remainder of the 25 metres.
    • Willing to represent the club at all competitions when chosen and attend all Opens supported by the Club.
    • Participate in all Club Championships.

      Nick has always had a keen and competitive  interest in sport spending his early years competing in equestrian sports. He joined the club in 1998 and immediately became involved in supporting the club by becoming a qualified timekeeper. After completing his judging qualifications he became more interested in teaching and started assisting a variety of coaches on poolside.

      Nick passed his first teaching qualification in 2011 completing his Level 2 the following year when becoming involved with the Bronze squad. His focus is on improving stroke technique whilst maintaining an element of fun.

      Hazel has been a member of DDSC since 1957. She is a qualified ASA swimming teacher and advanced teacher. Hazel is also an ASA coach and Kent Official.

      DDSC has given Hazel the honorary position of Life President in recognition of the dedication and hard work she has given over the years to the club.

      The Development Officer main duties include:

      • To work with coaches to ensure they have effective mid-term plans for their development, sustainability and community value.
      • Support the club to achieve and maintain appropriate swim21 accreditation.
      • To ensure the club has the appropriate status, governance and structure to enable them to be effective.
      • To ensure the club integrates into effective pathways for the development of talent and retention of members.
      • Work with the coaches to ensure they effectively work together to develop the sport, athletes and volunteers within the club.
      • To ensure the club has an effective and appropriate workforce in place, including supporting them to recruit, train and retain.
      • Ensure the club is effective in communicating and working with and developing swimmers with their coaches.
      • To identify and support the club to access suitable support resource and funding programmes.

      Junior Masters swimming is essentially swimming for over 16 years to 18 years and encompasses swimming to highly competitive sets.
    • Minimum Requirement: Minimum Age: Have to be in the 6th form or at college (16/17 and above – start of year 12).
    • Commitment: Swimmers will be expected to show the same commitment as the TOP Squad during the training sessions.
    • Sessions reflect swimming ability, ranging from 1600m to 3000m incorporating all strokes.
    • Coaches will provide ‘sets’ at the start of each session.
    • Some sessions Junior Masters may integrate with Top Squad for Relays/Races although in general this squad will have separate pool space.
    • Will represent the Club at Galas (if selected).

    • Sessions reflect swimming ability, ranging from 1600m to 3000m incorporating all strokes.
    • Balanced mix of male and female members of varying ages.
    • Most members use the sessions as fitness training.
    • Some members compete in Masters and Open events.
