The optimum age for this squad is 13 years upwards.
At the discretion of the coach and dependant on ability, children aged 12 years may be accepted.
Entry Criteria
- Complete an 10 x 100m Front Crawl set on a specific turnaround time set by the coach
- Complete 10 x 100m Individual Medley set on a specific turnaround time set by the coach
- Complete a 10 x 50m Kick set on a specific turnaround time set by the coach.
- Swimmers who have achieved, or are close to achieving County Qualifying / Consideration times.
- Obtained 50m times in all 4 strokes at a licensed meet
- Obtained 100m times in all 4 strokes at a licensed meet
- Obtained 200m times in at least 3 strokes at a licensed meet
- Obtained a 200m Individual Medley time at a licensed meet
- Swimmers must have achieved a minimum time of 1.15mins for 100m Front Crawl
- Swimmers must have demonstrated full commitment to competitive swimming by attending all Club Championships and Open Meets supported by the Club.
- Swimmers must be willing to represent the club at competitions when chosen.
- Attended a minimum of 75% of available sessions in Gold squad / Sprint Squad on a quarterly basis
- Attendance and training ethic will be continually monitored and reviewed on a quarterly basis.

The optimum age for this squad is 14 years old and upwards. Minimum age of entry into this squad is strictly 13 years of age.
Entry Criteria
The squad is designed for swimmers who have not yet achieved County Qualifying times or met the entry criteria for Performance Squad, but are continuing to work towards this goal and/or do not wish to commit to swimming 5 days per week.
- Complete an 8 x 100m Front Crawl set on a specific turnaround time set by the coach
- Swim a continuous 400m Freestyle
- Swim a continuous 100m Individual Medley using legal turns
- Perform legal starts and turns in all four strokes
- Obtained 50m times in all 4 strokes at a licensed meet
- Obtained 100m times in at least 2 strokes at a licensed meet
- Obtained 200m times in at least 2 strokes at a licensed meet
- Swimmer must be willing to participate in Club Championships and Open meets selected by the coaching staff
- Swimmer must be willing, when selected, to represent the club at competitions.
- Attended a minimum of 75% of available sessions, on a quarterly basis, whilst in Silver/ Gold squad

Entry Criteria
- Have achieved level 10 of the National Teaching plan or be swimming at another competitive swimming club. (External Entrants)
- Complete an 800m Front Crawl training set (either 16 x 50m, 8 x 100m or 4 x 200m) on a specific turnaround time set by the coach
- Complete an 8 x 50m kick set on a specific turnaround time set by the coach.
- Perform legal starts in all four strokes.
- Perform legal turns in all four strokes
- Perform a 100m Individual Medley using legal turns
- Achieved the Preliminary Competitive Start Award.
- Obtained 50m licensed meet times in all four individual strokes.
- Attended a minimum of 75% of available sessions, on a quarterly basis, whilst in Bronze Squad (Existing Club members)
If joining externally. children must have completed Stage 9 of the Swim England National Teaching Plan or have swam at another competitive club.
Squad Aims:
- Complete an 8 x 100m Front Crawl set on a specific turnaround time set by the coach.

- Swim 50 metres Front Crawl (performed to Swim England expected standards)
- Swim 50 metres Backstroke (performed to Swim England expected standards)
- Swim 25 metres Breaststroke (performed to Swim England expected standards)
- Swim 25 metres Butterfly (performed to Swim England expected standards)
- Swim 100 metres, using a minimum of three different strokes (performed to Swim England expected standards).
- Sink, push and glide underwater 5 metres in supine position
- Sink, push and glide underwater 5 metres in prone position
- Perform a Front Crawl turn
- Perform a Backstroke turn
- Perform a standing dive from poolside
- Attended a minimum of 75% of available sessions, per month, whilst in Academy 2 (Existing Club members)
Squad Aims
- Complete an 800m Front Crawl set (either 16 x 50m, 8 x 100m or 4 x 200m) on a specific turnaround time set by the coach
- Complete an 8 x 50m kick set on a specific turnaround time set by the coach.
- Perform a Backstroke start then butterfly kick in a streamlined position underwater for 7-10 metres transferring into stroke and completing the remainder of the 25 metres.
- Perform a Front crawl start, underwater kick in a streamlined position for 7-10 metres transferring into stroke and completing the remainder of the 25 metres.
- Perform a Butterfly start, underwater kick in a streamlined position for 7-10 metres transferring into stroke and completing the remainder of the 25 metres.
- Perform a Breaststroke start, transferring into stroke and completing the remainder of the 25 metres Swim 25 metres Butterfly (performed to Swim England expected standards)
- Perform legal turns in all four strokes
- Perform a 100m Individual Medley with a correct start and legal turns
- Achieve the Preliminary Competitive Start Award.
- Obtain all 50m times at a licensed meet in all four individual strokes.

- Perform a forward somersault
- Scull in different directions
